We consider the stats provided by most hosting companies to be data but not information. In general, they are:

1. Available once a month - not real time.
2. Only tell you your top-20 page views.
3. Do not give you site page information to see how your visitors navigate your site.
4. Do not give you referring stats.
5. Do not tell you what search phrases are used by people visiting your site.

How does this compare to WebTrends?

First, there are many versions of WebTrends on the market today. If you happen to receive WebTrends reports for free from your hosting company, this program is far superior to what you're receiving today.
